Well! We’re still trying to figure out whether to categorise this stunning poster as a Swiss travel poster or a sporting Golf poster – because it’s kind of both!
The poster was created by the renowned poster artist Martin Peikert to promote the two neighboring villages of the Lenzerheide and Valbella. The two mountain resorts are located in the canton of Graubünden, Switzerland at the foot of the Parpaner Rothorn.
Peikerts popular and iconic poster design features a stunning image of a female golfer teeing off with her five iron, against the unique backdrop of the Grisons mountains and the Heidsee. The poster was produced to advertise the opening of the villages Lenzerheide golf course. The golf course in Lenzerheide was opened in 1951. Surrounded by spectacular scenery, the picture-perfect course is known as one of Europe’s most beautiful alpine golf courses.
Talking of beautiful, Peikert is well-known for his, almost trademark posters featuring glamorous and beautiful women. They are usually featured participating in winter sports activities and they are often based on his model and muse, his then wife Henrietta. On this Lenzerheide Valbella poster, the artist has perfectly captured the graceful form of the female body as the golfer swings through the ball. This image perfectly captures the elegance of the sport, as well as the beauty of the female form in motion.
