As can be seen by this vintage Yorkshire railway poster, North Landing is a small, picturesque bay. It is situated on the north side of the stunning Flamborough Headland. It is the smallest of the four seaside beaches in the seaside village. The beach is a beautiful expanse of sand, white pebbles and rock pool, flanked by stunning white chalk cliffs top with grassy hills that would give the cliffs of Dover a  good run for the money. The area has been designated a Special Area of Conservation.

The poster was illustrated by the artist Edward Wesson for British Railways (Eastern Region). It offers a superb view from the top of the cliffs looking down into the bay. The scene takes in a couple of fishermans huts and several boats, with a steamship out in sea foor good measure. The vintage North Landing poster formed part of British Railways ongoing ‘See Britain by Train’ advertising campaign.
