A vintage Midland Railway publicity poster advertising a ‘New Route to the Isle of Man via Heysham on the Fast Turbine Steamer Manxman’ . Upon her completion in 1904, Manxman entered service with the Midland Railway on the Heysham to Douglas run. She gave reliable service until she was purchased from the Midland Railway by the Admiralty in January 1915 for service in World War One.
