Chemins de Fer du Nord et de L’est, often referred to as the Est company, was an early French railway company. It was formed in 1853. This vintage Martigny, Vosges poster was created by the French artist, cartoonist, illustrator, and author, Lucien Metivet. For this beautiful French travel poster, Metivet advertises the resort of Martigny, in the Voges mountains of northwest France. The image features a woman in dressed in a long white dress and her orange-haired companion under a pink sky. The poster promotes the Martigny’s many activities including a Casino, Theatre, Concerts, Automobile, Golf, and Links (presumably railway links to the area).
