This is a reproduction of a vintage Les Baux travel poster created by the French artist Marco in 1912. It was produced for the Chemins de fer de Paris à Lyon et à la Méditerranée or French National Railway company to promote rail travel and tourism to the Provence region.

The superb image features a woman with a basket of bread on her hear walking through the ancient streets of the Medieval village of Les Baux de-Provence.Looking beyond the houses in the street the majestic ruins of the Chateau des Baux towers proudly over the village. Les Baux-de-Provence is located in the Alpilles mountains, atop a rocky outcrop that is crowned with the fortified castle that was built during the 10th century.

Les Baux has been named one of the most beautiful villages in France and has over 1.5 million visitors per year. It only has 22 residents in the upper part of the commune and 436 for the whole commune. At the time of listing (May 2021) an original copy of this poster was offered up for sale on an original poster website for €1,800.
