Falmouth is a Cornish town on the River Fal on the coast of  Cornwall. It’s known for its deep natural harbour on the Fal Estuary, and beaches like Swanpool and Gyllyngvase. On Pendennis Point, Pendennis Castle is a well-preserved 16th-century fortress built by Henry VIII. Falmouth is famous for its harbour. Together with Carrick Roads, it forms the third deepest natural harbour in the world, and the deepest in Western Europe. The entire 18km length from Falmouth to Truro is designated an Area of Outstanding Beauty. This beautiful poster was created by the artist L Burleigh Bruhl for the Great Western Railway in 1927.

Cornwall was a railway destination that featured heavily in both Great Western Railways and British Railways poster output and many famous and less-well-known artists have created posters to get tourists to make the journey there by train.
