C’è una Bugatti, Non si passa poster – Marcello Dudovich
Well! Let’s be honest here. What’s not to like about this superb C’è una Bugatti, Non si passa poster. Firstly, it was illustrated by one of Italy’s greatest painters and poster artists, Marcello Dudovich. Second, it features the beautiful Bugatti Type 35, a legendary car in the world of motorsport and one of the icons in Bugatti’s long, rich history. And third, it shows if you’ve got the right car, you can get a beautiful girl.
Dudovich’s image sums up the feeling of getting behind the wheel of a fast car alongside a beautiful woman. When I look and this poster it conjures up the lyrics to that famous Bruce Springsteen song Thunder Road “… roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair, Well the night’s busting open, These two lanes will take us anywhere…’ Well, the wind is certainly blowing this driver’s hair. Dudovich has cleverly portrayed the drivers and his passenger’s scarves billowing in the wind. The young woman is also seen protecting her eyes from the oncoming wind that genuinely conveys the thrill of driving at speed.
C’è una Bugatti, Non si passa
The title at the top of the poster reads C’è una Bugatti, Non si passa. In English the heading proclaims “It’s a Bugatti, None shall pass!” which although it sounds like a Gandalf statement from Lord of the Rings, the claim was actually true.
With over 2,000 race victories to its name between its introduction in 1922 and the end of its racing career in 1930, the Bugatti Type 35 is the world’s most successful racing car ever.
