Alfred Hitchcock poster – Pta’ci Psycho poster Zdenek Ziegler
This is a reproduction of the Czech double bill poster for the Alfred Hitchcock movies The Birds and Pschyo. Original copies of this rare poster sell for around £1000.
The Birds is a 1963 American horror-thriller film directed and produced by Alfred Hitchcock. Loosely based on the 1952 story of the same name by Daphne du Maurier, it focuses on a series of sudden and unexplained violent bird attacks on the people of Bodega Bay, California, over the course of a few days.
The film stars Rod Taylor and Tippi Hedren (in her screen debut), supported by Jessica Tandy, Suzanne Pleshette and Veronica Cartwright.
In 2016, The Birds was deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” by the United States Library of Congress, and selected for preservation in its National Film Registry.
Psycho is a 1960 psychological horror film that stars Anthony Perkins, Janet Leigh, Vera Miles, John Gavin and Martin Balsam. Psycho was seen as a departure from Hitchcock’s previous film North by Northwest, as it was filmed on a lower budget and in black-and-white. It was initially considered controversial and received mixed reviews. However, Psycho is now considered one of Hitchcock’s best films, and is possibly his most famous work.
In 1992, Psycho was deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” by the United States Library of Congress, and selected for preservation in its National Film Registry.
Our posters are carefully and professionally created from vintage originals. Whilst great care is taken in the production of these posters, we also try to maintain a vintage feel, so there may be small imperfections, fold marks, scuffs, tears or marks that were part of the original poster master. If these do appear they should be visible on the larger views of the item on this listing. The originals of many of the posters we offer can cost many thousands of pounds, so whilst these posters look great, especially framed and mounted on a wall, they are intended as a fun, affordable reproductions and not intended fine art prints.
The 50x70cm version has been specially produced to be used in conjunction with Ikea’s 50x70cm Ribba picture frame which currently retails for around £12. So you can bag a print and frame for a great price.
